The UFC has come a long way since the 1990s when Senator John McCain led a campaign to ban the sport. Fortunately for fighters and fans alike, UFC has risen to the peak of the sport social standing list and stamped itself as a novelty event-based amusement action. People from all over the globe watch UFC and attend the events. Odds Shark’s Ultimate Fighting Championship webpages are filled with UFC betting tips, odds and more to give you a better understanding of how to wager UFC and (hopefully) win some money.
A Brief History of the UFC
The first-ever UFC occasion (a pay-per-view affair) was held at the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado. It was in 1993 and the winner was Royce Gracie of the legendary Gracie family — they’re just like the Kardashians of MMA. Following UFC 1, the game started to generate interest from patrons and its own fan base began to grow. Fighting for a place in the professional sports arena, UFC enlarged from only pay-per-view and made The Ultimate Fighter, a reality television series for Spike TV about up-and-coming MMA fighters. Because of this UFC’s mainstream exposure, fighters such as Georges St-Pierre became family names. Dana White, who has held the position of UFC president since 2001, has contributed to the game’s mainstream appeal by ensuring cards comprise notable fighters and occasions are greatly promoted. As of 2018, there had been over 400 occasions and female stars such as Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg are becoming just as popular as their male counterparts. Names like Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, T.J. Dillashaw and Rose Namajunas are becoming as popular as other celebrities of the sport world like Tom Brady, LeBron James, Serena Williams and Sidney Crosby.
The Way to Bet on the UFC
If it comes to betting on the UFC, there are two chief types of bets that can be made. Both gambling choices provide you a opportunity to put wise wagers on the matchups and fighters of your selection.
A moneyline bet is a bet you place on the boxer you believe will win the fight. Each fighter is given the tag of underdog or favorite depending on if they are called to win or lose the game. For this example, we will use made-up fighters. Frankie”Frankenstein” Frankowitz is recorded at -600 and his opponent Manny”Manners” McManus is recorded at +450. Within this scenario, Frankenstein is your preferred and Manners is the underdog. To be able to win $100 on Frankenstein, you’d have to wager $600. But if you wager $100 on Manners, you’d net $450 if he wins. FYI, he is called Manners because he’s super polite.
UFC betting odds will be provided for OVER/UNDER round betting wagers. This is a bet that can be made on how many rounds a bout will survive. For a three-round competition, a wager will usually be OVER/UNDER 1.5 rounds. To get five-round matchups, the OVER/UNDER is generally 2.5 rounds. A good example is if M. Bison and Colonel William F. Guile from Street Fighter were siphoned off to get a five-round contest. The UFC betting odds with this particular feign fight are +120 when the game goes over 2.5 rounds, and -140 when the game goes beneath 2.5 rounds. If you think it’ll be a quick fight, you would take the UNDER and have to bet $140 to make $100. If you feel the fight will continue more than 2.5 rounds, then you’d take the OVER and you would have to wager $100 to win $120. If Colonel Guile KOs Bison at the middle of the second round, if you bet the UNDER, you’d win your bet. Sonic Boom!

The Difference Between UFC and MMA
The difference between mixed martial arts and the Ultimate Fighting Championship is that MMA is your sport and UFC is a business. Mixed martial arts is the style of fighting used in the UFC. It’s the same as the NFL is a league and soccer is the game. MMA is a combination of various styles of fighting like boxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu and kickboxing. Mixed martial arts has been around since the early 1900s but it was not until the 1980s it gained steam. In 1993, upon the creation of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, MMA became the powerhouse it is today. The UFC is headquartered in Las Vegas. John Wick will probably be the face of this UFC when he had been a real person because he knows how to battle and could likely win all of his fights. Don’t touch with his dog.
