UFC Betting News

The UFC has come a long way since the 1990s when Senator John McCain led a campaign to ban the sport. Fortunately for fighters and fans alike, UFC has risen to the peak of the sport social standing list and stamped itself as a novelty event-based amusement action. People from all over the globe watch UFC and attend the events. Odds Shark’s Ultimate Fighting Championship webpages are filled with UFC betting tips, odds and more to give you a better understanding of how to wager UFC and (hopefully) win some money.
A Brief History of the UFC
The first-ever UFC occasion (a pay-per-view affair) was held at the McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado. It was in 1993 and the winner was Royce Gracie of the legendary Gracie family — they’re just like the Kardashians of MMA. Following UFC 1, the game started to generate interest from patrons and its own fan base began to grow. Fighting for a place in the professional sports arena, UFC enlarged from only pay-per-view and made The Ultimate Fighter, a reality television series for Spike TV about up-and-coming MMA fighters. Because of this UFC’s mainstream exposure, fighters such as Georges St-Pierre became family names. Dana White, who has held the position of UFC president since 2001, has contributed to the game’s mainstream appeal by ensuring cards comprise notable fighters and occasions are greatly promoted. As of 2018, there had been over 400 occasions and female stars such as Ronda Rousey and Cris Cyborg are becoming just as popular as their male counterparts. Names like Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier, T.J. Dillashaw and Rose Namajunas are becoming as popular as other celebrities of the sport world like Tom Brady, LeBron James, Serena Williams and Sidney Crosby.
The Way to Bet on the UFC
If it comes to betting on the UFC, there are two chief types of bets that can be made. Both gambling choices provide you a opportunity to put wise wagers on the matchups and fighters of your selection.
Moneyline
A moneyline bet is a bet you place on the boxer you believe will win the fight. Each fighter is given the tag of underdog or favorite depending on if they are called to win or lose the game. For this example, we will use made-up fighters. Frankie”Frankenstein” Frankowitz is recorded at -600 and his opponent Manny”Manners” McManus is recorded at +450. Within this scenario, Frankenstein is your preferred and Manners is the underdog. To be able to win $100 on Frankenstein, you’d have to wager $600. But if you wager $100 on Manners, you’d net $450 if he wins. FYI, he is called Manners because he’s super polite.
OVER/UNDER
UFC betting odds will be provided for OVER/UNDER round betting wagers. This is a bet that can be made on how many rounds a bout will survive. For a three-round competition, a wager will usually be OVER/UNDER 1.5 rounds. To get five-round matchups, the OVER/UNDER is generally 2.5 rounds. A good example is if M. Bison and Colonel William F. Guile from Street Fighter were siphoned off to get a five-round contest. The UFC betting odds with this particular feign fight are +120 when the game goes over 2.5 rounds, and -140 when the game goes beneath 2.5 rounds. If you think it’ll be a quick fight, you would take the UNDER and have to bet $140 to make $100. If you feel the fight will continue more than 2.5 rounds, then you’d take the OVER and you would have to wager $100 to win $120. If Colonel Guile KOs Bison at the middle of the second round, if you bet the UNDER, you’d win your bet. Sonic Boom!

The Difference Between UFC and MMA
The difference between mixed martial arts and the Ultimate Fighting Championship is that MMA is your sport and UFC is a business. Mixed martial arts is the style of fighting used in the UFC. It’s the same as the NFL is a league and soccer is the game. MMA is a combination of various styles of fighting like boxing, wrestling, jiu-jitsu and kickboxing. Mixed martial arts has been around since the early 1900s but it was not until the 1980s it gained steam. In 1993, upon the creation of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, MMA became the powerhouse it is today. The UFC is headquartered in Las Vegas. John Wick will probably be the face of this UFC when he had been a real person because he knows how to battle and could likely win all of his fights. Don’t touch with his dog.
UFC Terminology
When studying how to wager on the UFC, you should get accustomed to the language.
Cage: The ring in which the competition takes place. This eight-sided enclosure is officially called the Octagon.
Card: The card is the list of matches which are occurring for a particular event. The main event is called the Main Event. A fight between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov would be the Main Event.
Disqualification: When a fighter uses an intentional illegal movement, ending the match. The other fighter is then declared the winner .
Forfeit: When a fighter ends the fight or neglects to compete in the first place, they’re strengthening their competitor’s success. Reasons for forfeiting a match include injuries sustained at the last minute or even a fighter not showing up on the afternoon of the fight for private reasons.
Knockout: When a fighter is routed into a state of unconsciousness in their opponent’s legal strike.
No Contest: If a fighter performs an accidental illegal move leaving their competitor unable to continue, the match will be announced NC.
Rounds: Rounds are five minutes, using a one-minute split between each. Championship fights and Main Events consist of five rounds and all others use a three-round arrangement.
Submission: This takes place when a fighter taps the mat or his opponent or communicates that he’s in too much distress or pain to keep the match.
Technical Knockout: When a fighter can not continue with the bout. There are 3 Kinds of TKOs:
Referee stoppage: Whenever the ref stops the fight because one of the participants cannot defend themselves Doctor stoppage: When the ringside doctor deems that it is unsafe for a fighter to continue with the match Corner stoppage: When a fighter cornerman — you know, Mickey from Rocky — signals for the fight to end because his own fighter Can’t continue

NASCAR at Bristol: Odds, prediction, sleepers, drivers to watch for Food City 500

NASCAR is taking a break and this weekend’s event heads into the half-mile place at Bristol Motor Speedway.

While the racing will be shifting up a bit right now, the storylines stay virtually the same: Kyle Busch has one of the best cars weekly, Kevin Harvick is still looking for his first triumph and Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin will probably be lurking for their third successes. The past is the past, however, and Busch has all of the history together with seven career wins in the track with 10 top 5s and 15 top 10s to his title there. He won last season’s race in the spring and will look for his third win , but it should also be noted he’s crushed at Bristol in three of his last eight races, therefore there is some danger here.

Harvick has become the best concerning consistency lately, although keselowski and Hamlin do have the exact same track record since Busch at the track. He has just two wins there and hasn’t finished outside the top 10.

History says he should factor to the triumph, but he only has had the car this year, yet to win and that cannot be dismissed. It’s quite difficult to call him making it .

We are going with Busch again because he loves Bristol, gets the car and has factored into the closing laps at every race he has been in this year from the Cup Series on down to the Trucks.

NASCAR at Atlanta odds, picks 2019: Model says Jimmie Johnson surprises at Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500

The 2019 Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 runs Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin will seem to follow up his historic win with another powerful performance. He’s listed at 15-1 in the latest 2019 Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 chances, together with the event’s defending champion, Kevin Harvick, installed as the Vegas favorite at 4-1. Harvick will start in 18th, but ended second from that place back in 2009 at Atlanta. Then there is Aric Almirola, who won the pole and is moving off at 20-1 NASCAR in Atlanta odds. The restrictor plates will come off with this race, so before making your own 2019 Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 picks, be sure to check out the projected leaderboard and latest NASCAR predictions in the proven computer version at SportsLine.

Produced by DFS expert and SportsLine predictive data scientist Mike McClure, this proprietary NASCAR prediction computer model simulates every race 10,000 occasions, taking factors such as track record and recent results into consideration.

It made some enormous calls in NASCAR this past year, including nailing wins for Kyle Busch at Chicago and Martin Truex Jr. in Sonoma. And it is off to a solid start in NASCAR this year, calling Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin a leading competition from the beginning. Anybody who has followed its picks is way, way up.

Grew up around race tracks. Big events in places like Atlanta Motor Speedway are in his blood. Now his model mimicked the 2019 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 a total of 10,000 times and the results were surprising.

For your 2019 QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta, we can tell you that the model is top on Jimmie Johnson, that surges towards the very top of the 2019 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 leaderboard despite heading off as a 25-1 long haul.

The seven-time cup winner had a strong run last week at the Daytona 500, finishing ninth as a 43-year-old in his 19th year on NASCAR’s top circuit. He heads to a track where he has won five times in his profession.

Johnson won the first two races at Atlanta Motor Speedway as soon as the event was shifted from the latter part of the season to right after Daytona. In addition, he won the late race at Atlanta in 2004 and won both events there in 2007.

Johnson will begin in 11th on Sunday, and also the model expects NASCAR’s elder statesman to keep near the front of the package and supply the possibility of a huge payout.

Another shocker from the version: Kyle Busch, among the best Vegas favorites at 6-1, doesn’t crack the top five.

Now, let us figure out who the top five picks are to bring home the bacon this forthcoming weekend.

2019 Coke Zero Sugar 400 Odds, Predictions & Picks

Where: Daytona International Speedway, Daytona Beach, FL
When: Saturday, July 6, 2019, green flag at 7:30 PM ET
TV: NBC Sports
Live Stream: NBCSports.com
Odds to Win 2019 Coke Zero 400
Kyle Busch +250
Martin Truex Jr. +400
Kevin Harvick +600
Brad Keselowski +700
Joey Logano +800
Chase Elliott +1000
Denny Hamlin +1600
Clint Bowyer +2000
Ryan Blaney +2000
Kyle Larson +2500
Jimmie Johnson +2500
Kurt Busch +2500
Alex Bowman +2800
Erik Jones +3300
Aric Almirola +3300
Daniel Suarez +6600
William Byron +8000
Austin Dillon +10000
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. +20000
No. 5 Ricky Stenhouse Jr..
I know Stenhouse Jr. sits at an uninspiring 19th place at the NASCAR standings with no wins, one Top 5 complete and just two Top 10 finishes, but I presume he’s a great mad choice to win it all, seeing as he took the checkered flag in this event in 2017 while finishing fifth at 2016 and seventh at the 2014 Daytona 500. Stenhouse Jr. has an average finish of 15.31 at Daytona, but he’s got two top five finishes in his last six appearances at Daytona including that above victory from the 2017 Coke Zero Sugar 400.

No. 4 Kyle Busch
While Kyle Busch hasn’t undergone a whole lot of success in Daytona, his lone victory on this course did take place at this event in 2008. Along with this, Busch finished second in last year’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 and an identical moment in both, 2006, 2007 and 2016. Busch has also finished fourth in the 2008 Daytona 500 and third in the 2016 Daytona 500. More importantly, Busch, has a season-high four wins this season to cooperate with 10 Top 5 finishes and an impressive 15 Top 10 finishes in 17 races. Busch is your preferred because of this, even though he is not my top pick to take the checkered flag.

No. 3 Clint Bowyer
I know the 40-year-old Kansas native is getting a little long in the tooth, but I like his mad value heading into Daytona for a huge reason. Bowyer appears to light up it one this course — at in this event more specifically. Prior to last year’s 22n location end, Bowyer finished second, ninth, 10th, ninth and fourth at the prior five Coke 400s. In addition to that, Bowyer also finished sixth at the 2006 Daytona 500, 10th in this race in 2006, seventh in 2007, ninth in 2008 and fourth at the 2010 Daytona 500. I like Bowyer to dial back the hands of time to battle for the win!

No. 2 Austin Dillon
In five career disagrees at Daytona International, Dillon has listed just one win (2018 Daytona 500), a set of Top 10 finishes and four Top 20 finishes. Dillon finished ninth in this event a year ago, seventh in 2016, the same ending in 2015 and fifth in 2014. I think the 29-year-old North Carolina native is going to have a great opportunity for the upset, which is the reason why I have him as my No. 2 choice to win .

No. 1 Erik Jones
I know the 23-year-old Michigan native sits at an uninspiring 17t place at the NASCAR standings with no successes, four Top five finishes and eight Top 10 finishes, but Jones has been fairly phenomenal when the green flag falls at Daytona. In his last two appearances at this track, Jones won this event a year ago and finished third in this year’s Daytona 500. In five career appearances at Daytona, Jones has three Top 10 finishes and just finished out of the running double due to accidents.
