Main Event: Jon Jones (-285) vs. Alexander Gustafsson (+225)
The final time Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson faced off, roughly a year-and-a-half ago, it was the former who emerged with the win. Though many thought Gustafsson might’ve had himthe judges awarded Jones a unanimous victory.
The odds last time around, however, were even more in favor of Jones, together with Gustafsson putting everywhere between +800 and +1000 lines. That they are so close this time speaks to how well he cried in the very first assembly, while also nodding towards how much he has improved his fast-twitch endurance.
Even so, Jones, who hasn’t fought in 17 weeks, has largely dominated everyone he has come across from the Octagon. This battle should take more gas than he’s used to using up, but he must pull it out and win the light heavyweight belt.
